Federal Science and Technical College Tungbo Hosts Thrilling 16th Annual Inter-House Sports Competition!
Tungbo, Bayelsa State – March 15, 2025 – The atmosphere at Federal Science and Technical College (FSTC) Tungbo was electric today as the school successfully hosted its 16th Annual Inter-House Sports Competition. The event, a vibrant display of athleticism, teamwork, and school spirit, brought together students, staff, parents, and esteemed guests for a memorable day of sporting excellence.
Held at the school’s expansive field, the competition kicked off promptly at 12 noon, with various houses vying for top honours in track and field events, as well as other exciting sports. Students showcased remarkable talent and sportsmanship, cheered on by enthusiastic spectators.
The event was graced by a distinguished lineup of dignitaries, underscoring its significance. Hon. Maseph Adikoro presided as the Chairman of the occasion, lending his esteemed presence to the proceedings. The Special Guest of Honour was Dr. Nasir Sani-Gworza, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education (FME), whose attendance highlighted the ministry’s commitment to youth development through sports.
Also in attendance were Hon. Michael Magbisa, Commissioner for Bayelsa West, as the Guest of Honour, and Hajia Binta Abdulkadir (DTSE, FME, Abuja) serving as the Chief Host. The cultural richness of the event was further enhanced by the Royal Father of the Day, HH Lt Comm. Amos Pobinafa rtd, the Amananowei of Tungbo Ebe. Mr. Zikomo Moses Biseni, the PTA Chairman, was the Father of the Day, while Mrs. Alice Allen, Chairman of Sagbama LGA, graced the occasion as the Mother of the Day.
The Host of the event, Mrs. Rosaline Inyang (JP), the Principal of FSTC Tungbo, expressed immense pride in the students’ performance and the seamless organization of the competition. She lauded the efforts of the staff and the support from parents and guests, which contributed to the event’s resounding success.
The 16th Annual Inter-House Sports Competition was not just about winning; it was a celebration of healthy competition, discipline, and the enduring spirit of camaraderie within the FSTC Tungbo community.
